Gay Republicans: I have a few conservative views myself(For instance I like owning firearms and no one, no one is gonna take my guns from me. Ever), and that is why I’m an Independent. But going full on Republican? I just don’t see how you can align yourself with a party where 90% of them work tirelessly to make sure you aren’t treated equally. To me that’s like an African American voting for a known KKK member(No I’m not equating the hardships of being gay to being black it’s just an example people). They hate you simply for how you were born but yet you still like them? Doesn’t make any sense to me.
And don’t try and tell me they don’t hate us. They kept us out of the military, and when that didn’t fly anymore they let us in only if we signed a contract to never be a homo in public(No you can’t hold your loving partner of 10 years hand in public, even while not in uniform. You can’t perform your duties the same way you have everyday for years if I know you like to suck another man’s dick at home), and then they fought tooth and nail to keep DADT going. There is no job on this planet that your sexual orientation can prevent you from doing.
So I just want to know how you can vote for candidates who run their campaigns on money from organizations who’s singular purpose is try to stop gay marriage at all cost. Do you hate yourself? I really don’t understand.
Just as a side note yes I know not all Republicans are bad. My dad is one, but he isn’t a hateful old bastard like Rush Limbaugh or anything so it’s chill. Hell he’s even a Christian and we still get along just fine. He doesn’t try to convert my “doomed” Atheist soul, and I don’t tell him he’s weak minded for needing something to believe in. My point is that you can have different views and beliefs(or lack of belief on my part) and not be a total fucking asshole about it.
